The Republican Nation Convention is still suspended for today but will open tomorrow in Saint Paul. It has not been confirmed whether or not Senator McCain will attend this week.
"This is a time when we have to do away with our party politics and we have to act as Americans. We have to join the 300 million other Americans on behalf of our fellow citizens. It's a time for action. So, we're going to suspend most of our activities tomorrow except for those absolutely necessary," said McCain, speaking from St. Louis, Missouri. President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney will not be in attendance this week, but Laura Bush is scheduled to speak at the convention. According to CNN McCain said that officials were looking into turning the convention into a giant telethon to raise money for Red Cross.
Senator Obama is also reaching out to his 2 million strong list of supporters to donate money or volunter.
